Minutes of Meeting of 11th January 2010
Time: 19:15, Monday 11th January 2010.
Present: Michael (chair, minutes).
Apologies: None.
Introductions
None.
Last Meeting
Minutes of last meeting dated 14th December 2009 were approved as correct.
Announcements and other business
None.
Purpose
The purpose of Manchester Free Software is to promote the free software philosophy, centred on, but not limited to, Manchester.
2010: What do we want to do?
- Get more involved with the Universities in Manchester including helping to setup University societies. Manchester University is already happening.
- Get more involved with Factory 2010. Running workshops on free software.
- Have a presence at IT and freedom loving events.
Speakers
Mike but himself down for talks for most of the year but still want other speakers from the group and external speakers.
ACTION: - Mike to write talk entitled "100% free software gaming: No cheating!".
ACTION: - Mike to contact Speakers including ones we have tried but not managed to get yet.
Stickers
We want FSF stickers. GPLv3, Defective by Design, Windows7sins.
ACTION: - Mike to contact FSF for stickers. GPLv3, Defective by Design, Windows7sins.
Bank Account
Mike still to fill in his bit and send off forms.

Team page on group wiki
Mike has created a Team page on the wiki with mailing list suggestions.
Manchester University Free Culture Society event
Luke is going to run an event for the new Manchester University Free Culture Society and would like people from Manchester Free Software to be there to talk about free software. Likely to be on a weekday evening from 6pm onwards in 2, or more, months. Who can help out? Mike will be there.
ACTION: - Mike encourage other people to help out at the event.
Factory 2010
We don't know how they are getting on but want to be involved with the project as its a good opportunity to promote free software.
ACTION: - Mike to contact Janey about how they are doing and that we are still interested.
