Document Freedom Day is an annual event to raise awareness of the issue of document freedom and promoting the OpenDocument standard.
The first event was in March 2008 and was organized by Free Software Foundation Europe. It is now organized by the Digital Freedom Foundation.
- Document Freedom Day was held twice in 2017: Wednesday, 26 March 2017 is the traditional DFD on the last Wednesday in March; and again on Wednesday, 26 April 2017.
- Document Freedom Day 2012 was on March 28th 2012 -- the FSF showed its support with a blog post and a banner across FSF websites.
