About us

The LibrePlanet Empowermentors is a skillshare network for people of color, people with disabilities, LGBTQ people, women, and radical people meant to empower these communities with free software knowledge and skills. We are a group of volunteers and activists with a strong commitment to creating a welcoming and non-oppressive community organized around furthering the ideals of free software and related issues. Software freedom is an issue of social justice, and necessary for a free society. We believe that information technology should empower its users, not subjugate them, so we are creating a safe space for marginalized voices to support each other in gaining control over the tools and devices that we use for experiencing and interacting with the world, communicating with one another, and even surviving.

We operate in accordance with the LibrePlanet Mission Statement and Code of Conduct.
