Right To Repair in Europe

In Europe, the movement has taken some significant steps forward with an important vote that happened in November 2020 introducing mandatory labeling indicating durability and aiming to avoid obsolescence in electronics.

The regulations are coming from a strong focus on climate and waste improvements, and right to repair has come to take on a significant role in these conversations. The right to repair issue is uniquely intersectional, and we must not forget that it is freedom that will make it possible to actually create a sustainable and durable relation to technology.

Follow Repair.eu, and IFixit to keep up to date with the latest developments and to connect to the organizers in your country. There are always petitions to find, and we need to be vigilant to make sure the European Union keeps listening to the voices of the people who ask for the right to repair.
