Group: Hardware/Computers/e-readers/Kobo/Aura H2O Edition 2/boot log Bienvenue sur Kobo !

Here's a boot log I got by:

  • Connecting an usb-serial adapter to the serial port (requires some good soldering practice and some basic electronics skills)
  • Having the device off and power it on

The screen then displays the welcome screen, on mine it's in french and says "Bienvenue sur Kobo !"(or "Welcome to Kobo!" in English) and asks me to configure the WiFi:

Using 'root' as login is sufficent to get a shell

(none) login: root
[root@(none) ~]#

However beware: The device has aggressive power management which makes the serial port unresponsive. To make the serial port responsive again, just touch the screen clicking some button.
