Tips for Libre Travelers
LibrePlanet 2024 will be held at the Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) located at 550 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115. The closest MBTA stop is the Museum of Fine Arts stop on the Green Line E branch. Another option is to take the orange line to Ruggles. From there it is a 9-minute walk to the WIT.

Transportation
The easiest way to get around Boston/Cambridge is to use the MBTA. Passes can be purchased with cash or credit/debit cards in stations. You're welcome to use the libreplanet-discuss mailing list for planning ride-shares and the like.
Arriving in the city
From Logan Airport
Most people travel via these three routes from the airport:
- Cabs are located all over the city, as well as at the airport and major subway stations.
- The Blue Line is a train, with a shuttle bus from Logan Airport to the Airport MBTA stop; the Silver Line is an expedited bus. The MBTA website provides a very helpful page on how to navigate via the Silver Line and Blue Line from the airport.
Getting Around
Getting to LibrePlanet at the Wentworth Institute of Technology
LibrePlanet 2024 will be held at the Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) located at 550 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115. The closest MBTA stop is the Museum of Fine Arts stop on the Green Line E branch. Another option is to take the orange line to Ruggles. From there it is a 9-minute walk to the WIT. Upon arrival, signs will show you the way to the registration and welcome center at the Space Station (at the CEIS).
Getting to the Free Software Foundation office
- Address: 51 Franklin Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02110
- From north of the city, travel via North Station. From there, take the Orange Line to Downtown Crossing to reach the office.
- From south of the city, travel via South Station. Take the red line to Downtown Crossing.
- Directions: Each of these subway stations is only a block away from the FSF. State Street and Government Center are also in easy walking distance.
- The door is unlocked during the day, so you can just come right on inside to the 5th floor. If the door happens to be locked, call us at +1 617 542 5942.

Shuttle buses replace the red line
Shuttle buses replace the red line service between Park Street and JFK/UMass from May 2-10 for track work. Commuter Rail service will be free to ride between South Station, JFK/UMass, Quincy Center, and Braintree. See the homepage of the MBTA for more information. If you only need to get from South Station to Downtown Crossing or Park Street and vice versa we recommend walking as that's the fastes way to get around in Downtown.
Parking

Parking at the venue is for free. Visitors should park in the West Lot.Downtown/Near FSF office
- Finding street parking is impossible. No use trying.
- Boston Common Garage: $12-$32, $18 on weekends. One of the best deals downtown! Only a few blocks from the office.
- 33 Arch Street Garage (Hawley Street) - $39 for 90 minutes during the day; $11 after 5PM.
- 101 Arch Street Garage (located across the street from the FSF): $41 for two hours. Closes at 7PM weekdays.
