= Who's using free software? =

Free software is software you can study, modify and share without restriction. But unlike proprietary software, there is no big budget marketing campaign behind it. Rather, people discover it and come to value the freedom it provides.

Who is using free software? Why do so many high profile organizations depend upon it? Can my educational institution, my business, my government or the non-profit I support use free software?

We thought we would put these questions to a cross-section of well known organizations who are using free software, and allow them, in their own words, to explain to you their motivations. We've also included a description of FSF's exclusive use of free software to demonstrate the availability of free software to perform just about any job.

And the answer to the question, can my educational institution, my business, my government or the non-profit I support use free software? It's a resounding yes! == ¿Quién esta usando software libre? ==

Software libre es todo  software que puedes estudiar, modificar y compartir sin restricción.  Pero a diferencia del software privativo, no hay una campaña de mercadeo de gran presupuesto detrás de él. Más bien, las personas lo descubren, y llegan a valorar la libertad que proporciona.

¿Quién está usando software libre? ¿Por qué tantas organizaciones de alto perfil dependen de él? ¿Puede mi centro educativo, mi negocio, mi gobierno o las organizaciones sin fines de lucro que yo apoyo usar software libre?.

Pensamos hacerle estas preguntas a un variado grupo de organizaciones reconocidas que usan software libre, y así permitirles, en sus propias palabras, explicarlete sus motivaciones. También hemos  incluido una descripción del uso exclusivo de software libre por parte de la FSFS para demostrar que existe software libre disponible para realizar cualquier trabajo.
