|interest= I became interested in Linux and Free Software some years ago after just losing out on a job at Yale University. The people there didn't think I had enough Linux experience. So, I went and got some. Doing that - and blogging about it - got me my current position and moved me here to Boston 1.5 years ago. My interest in Free Software has been fired up again as of last week with Apple's announcement of the iPad. I consider the extension of the exclusive software distribution paradigm of the App Store into another product line among the most dangerous moves in computing today.
