Preface
The idea for this project came out of hearing at LibrePlanet 2012 that Linux kernel source is often not available to recipients of Android phones.
Thanks to Matthew Garrett for driving that point home.
Plan
- Make a web app that lets people easily and respectfully request source code to Linux corresponding to their Android phones
- Keep the FSF in the loop on these requests
- Make as much possible about these requests public, so that the world can watch vendors succeed.
- Documentation for what it will do: https://etherpad.mozilla.org/user-stories
- Prototype: http://android-source.herokuapp.com/
- Git repo: https://github.com/paulproteus/androidsource
