Hi, pegz here!
This is a response to a thread on the FSF's Member's forum.

Question: Why didn't I post this response there?
Answer: The forum software won't let me; thankfully though, I can continuously edit this wiki for accuracy unlike my forum post, so it's also a little more convenient, too.
Error:
We’re sorry, but there seems to be an error…
The error has been logged as entry number 1475358265.580.36098276753.
If you need to report this to the Site Administration, please include this entry number in your message.

… I don't know why the button doesn't exist…

It exists!

Your associate button (click me!) is located under the Member button section. The actual button on the page is just an image that is stored on the FSF's server under the associate/crm/ directory, where all the other "buttons" are stored; thus, since it is just an image: You have to turn it into a button if you want it to behave like a button on your website or email (i.e. a PNG hyperlink embedded inside of an HTML email).

… I wonder if they have to be manually added.

Yes, they do.

… How Can i download my Associate Button. I want to add this button to my e-mail signature.

Here's how:

Right click on the image of your button under the Member button section and select Save Image As… with your mouse, and save the file in a directory of your choice. The file name of the image, minus the extension, is your referrer ID (i.e. this number is used for referral links that you create, and is one way for the FSF to know which users are referring other users to them). For an idea of how to embed the image and make it behave like a button inside of a webpage or an email: Check out the FSF's widgets page. You must remember to replace the example referrer ID with your own ID when you embed it into your email or website– Don't forget this!

The same thing can be accomplished with badges, and if you want to modify your associate button so that your referrer ID is a part of the image, or you would like to increase the size of your associate member button, then you may download and modify fsf-member-button.svg, which can be scaled to be larger or smaller without a loss in quality.

If anyone is still confused about how to use their associate member button, or even badges, widgets, or HTML in general, then please leave a reply on the forum or enter the Discussion page above.
