If you're looking for a simple way to convert videos to WebM, look no further than OggConvert.
Installed by default on some of the GNU/Linux distributions we recommend -- http://www.gnu.org/distros/ -- OggConvert gives you a simple, one screen conversion of videos.
The two key things to select are:
- VP8 for video format
- Matroska for File Format -- File Format is under the 'Advanced' options. It is the only advanced option.
And you've got a WebM video. Easy, eh?
