The objective of this project is to identify hardware devices in the local market that work with free software.

This is a list of hardware devices that we have tested with a free GNU/Linux distribution.

UPS

APC	Back-UPS RS 800	Works. Tested with Trisquel 3.0RC1. When connected via USB to the computer, Gnome shows the battery status and some options to shut down the computer when the battery is low (not tested).

Laptops

Asus	Eee PC 2G Surf (700)	Works. All hardware is compatible with free software, but BIOS is non-free. Tested with gNewSense 2.2 and Linux-libre 2.6.27. Also works with Trisquel mini 2.1, which has Linux-libre 2.6.28. It has an Atheros AR242x (AR5BXB63) wifi adapter that works with ath5k driver.
Asus	Eee PC 900	Works. All hardware is compatible with free software, but BIOS is non-free. Tested with Trisquel 3.0 and Linux-libre 2.6.30-libre-fshoppe1 (i686). Thanks Francisco Hernandez
