The official OpenOffice.org extensions repository offers many addons to extend OpenOffice.org with additional features.

While OpenOffice.org is free software, it has a policy of also listing proprietary extensions in with the free software ones.

This is the start of an all-free-software list of extensions for OpenOffice.org. Please see Group:OpenOfficeExtensions for more information about the listing, how use it, and how to contribute.

Compose Special Characters	Extension for Writer and Calc. It lets you type two or three characters and use a keyboard shortcut to convert them into a single accented or special character.	LGPLv2.1
Pagination	A little macro that adds a 'Insert / Page number...' dialog to writer. It eases the way you can add page numbers to a document.	GPLv3
Sun PDF Importer	The PDF Import Extension allows you to import and modify PDF documents. Best results with 100% layout accuracy can be achieved with the "PDF/ODF hybrid file" format, which this extension also enables. A hybrid PDF/ODF file is a PDF file that contains an embedded ODF source file. Hybrid PDF/ODF files will be opened in OpenOffice.org as an ODF file without any layout changes.	LGPLv3
Sun Presentation Minimizer	The Sun Presentation Minimizer is used to reduce the file size of the current presentation. Images will be compressed, and data that is no longer needed will be removed.	LGPLv3
Text Effects	Extension for Writer. It can make colorful text, draw a few simple shapes and Tux, change brightness of text, make anagrams, make inversed text, uneven text, remapped text.	GPLv3
