FreePats
The purpose of the FreePats project is to encourage and help coordinate the development of a completely free and open set of instrument samples, in wav format, that could be used as a base for a SoundFont or GUS compatible patches, or any other instrument format if possible.
Help make Free alternatives for music creation a reality. Volunteers need to:
- record instrument sounds
- work on creating soundfonts or converting instruments to other formats
- create Free Software to help convert or play sound sample formats
- find other freely licensed sounds out there
- get the word out about this project
- or just join in on the discussion via the mailing list
