The goals of Multimedia Libre are as follows:
1. Overview the available free multimedia software in terms of its usability as professional tools and its development status, that is whether the software is being actively developed or not.
2. Making that information available to the public and keeping it updated.
3. Developing priority suggestions for programmers - that is, the development of what features of what software is crucial to it becoming fully adequate to the expectations of professionals or a certain job it is intitally designed to do.
4. Raising awareness among programmers as to the importance of free multimedia projects, interesting them. In the future the scope of the activity of the group may include help on raising funds for the development.
5. Promoting the usage of free software among people, who use computer as a multimedia station, which includes raising awareness of the free software philosophy and ethical problems behind proprietary software.
