Chorlton's Big Green Festival 2010

Event Reports

Mike's

MFS's presence at Chorlton's Big Green Festival was a massive success. The event was heavily attended and masses of people funnelled past our stall due to its fortunate position. The event goers were very receptive to the Free Software philosophy and it was a pleasure promoting the philosophy. The event ties in well with the April talk by Richard Smedley on Free Software in the Voluntary Sector and there was a lot of interest in this. The purpose of Manchester Free Software is to promote the Free Software philosophy and this event successfully did this. We will be there next year.

Not only that, we also had a lot of fun! It was great meeting all the people, each with their different level of experience of Free Software and the Free Software philosophy. People were happy to meet us and glad we were there. We had fun sampling the lovely food and drink. And the event had lots of interesting things like dancing, singing and hula-hooping!

I would like thank: Richard Smedley for notifying the group about the festival, booking the stall, helping set up and doing excellent Free Software promotion during the day. I think Richard was in his element. Leslie for storing our merchandise, helping us transport it the event, helping set up, doing excellent Free Software promotion during the day, being fun, helping tear down and tidy up, and storing merchandise again. Luke, for helping run the event especially for giving people a break at lunch, for his questions and being Luke, doing excellent Free Software promotion during the day and helping with tear down and tidy up.

Regards, Mike. MFS Chair.
