Your points are valid, however, the issue is getting good sound sources (drums, piano, synthesizers etc.) and this means recording real instruments. You don't need VST technology to do professional music. What you lose by avoiding VST's is the sound, not your musical gift. It may be that you aren't used to the way free software works, so it seems backwards. I'd like to see you try cutting an album on rosegarden over the next month (say 10 tracks). Nothing great, just straight forward simple style with whatever sound fonts you can get. Then you can show the problems and perhaps get developers to work on solutions, while listening to your music ;) Blacky 17:59, 22 March 2009 (EDT)
