About us
The LibrePlanet Alabama team is a group dedicated to the promotion of free software and exploration of computer science as a rewarding and fun discipline. We operate in accordance with the LibrePlanet Mission Statement and Code of Conduct.
Goals
- Educate
- Advocate
- Promote free software tools through projects, campaigns, and events. For more technologically adept members, you can write code for libre software projects at Savannah, the libre alternative to GitHub.
- Supply
- Provide freedom respecting hardware and increase the availability of free hardware through the h-node project, the Free Software Foundation's hardware database.
- Support
- Offer local help getting and using free software and hardware. Please communicate using the talk page for LibrePlanet Alabama until a formal system of communication is established.
- Unite
- Bridge connections between free software activists and computer users in your community. An easy way to help is printing and distributing flyers, posters and stickers provided by the FSF.
