Software Freedom Day 2013, in Boston

Everyone is Welcome

At this year's Software Freedom Day, we will be talking about privacy, government transparency and user freedoms online. You'll hear updates from local groups and voices from the wider free software movement. Expect learning, celebrating and plenty of networking. This event is free and open to the public!

Everyone is welcome: old FOSS friends reconnecting, new people being introduced to free software for the first time, and everyone in between.

  • 9:30 - 10:00 Coffee and networking
  • 10:00 - 11:00 Protect Your Privacy in the Digital Age, Presenter: Steve Revilak, Massachusetts Pirate Party
  • 11:15 - 12:15 A Post-Prism Journey Outside the Big Twelve Social Media Platforms, Presenter: Will Rico, LibrePlanet Boston
  • 12:30 - 2:30 Tables & Lunch: Hacker/Maker show and tell, User groups + lunch on your own
  • 2:30 - 3:30 Panel on Government Transparency, Organizer/Moderator: Paul Tagliamonte, Sunlight Foundation
  • 3:45 - 4:15 GNU 30 Years, Organizer: Chrissie Himes, Free Software Foundation
  • 4:30 - 5:00 Lightning Talks (x5), Jason Pramas, Digital Media Conference
