Campaigns

Working Together For Free Software

Welcoming newcomers

How does the refocused homepage look?

  • We should create a Working Together for Free Software badge that featured projects can display and link back to the campaign --Dpic 15:00, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Profiles

Suggest individuals involved in free software to have their profile featured by the FSF. Mako --Dpic 15:01, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Proposals

  • Launch a joint fundraising campaign to donate to the FSF, EFF, Public Knowledge, and Creative Commons on behalf of ASCAP and NMPA in response to their letter opposing free culture. All that would be needed is a simple website which has one page explaining the issue, and another with links to these organizations to donate/join. This could also be done for ACTA. --Dpic 15:13, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
  • Draft a "Free Software Statement" which businesses, nonprofits, and schools can adopt to declare their support for free software, ensuring their websites are standards compliant and that they will use and recommend free tools. This statement should link to a simple website or page with a more general statement listing the organizations that have declared their support and allow individuals to sign as well --Dpic 02:27, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

  • Do not require copyright assignment from wiki contributors and change the license to CC-BY-SA 3.0. ( Read more) --OsamaK 15:10, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Artwork & Materials

Submit design ideas for logos, stickers, etc

Events

Existing

LibrePlanet Conference

  • It should be an international event that is also hosted outside the U.S. just like GPLv3 conferences. This can be done in collaboration with other FSF* organizations. In addition, it should be in summer instead of March where many people are able to consider attending. These two issues do matter to many free software advocates who are students.--OsamaK 15:04, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Proposals

  • FSF 25th birthday --Dpic 18:29, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Issues

What issues involving free software are most concerning to you, and what do you think could be done to address them?
