So that the name 'LibrePlanet' is strongly associated with a clear goal, and so individual groups can cooperate and collaborate effectively, all LibrePlanet participants agree with this set of founding principles:

LibrePlanet teams are part of a global network of groups organized by geographical region, project, or focus, all working together for free software in accordance with the LibrePlanet project's mission statement and code of conduct.
Joining a Team
Joining a local team is easy as navigating to your regional category and seeing if there is a LibrePlanet Team listed which should have instructions on how to join. Membership can be anything from silent support of the team and following activities/discussion (casually referred to as "lurking") all the way to taking initiative and assuming a prominent role of leadership. Obviously, everyone is encouraged to aim for the latter!
Missing Teams
LibrePlanet is young and most regions still do not have teams set up! If you are interested in becoming involved locally, you have two options:
- If you are unable to dedicate the time to be the lead organizer, please create a temporary page using the instructions below and link to it prominently from the regional page. Instead of the normal content, however, simply include a disclaimer that the page is a temporary placeholder, a link back to this page, and a link of people interested in joining (starting with yourself) plus how to contact them once the group is established.
- You may start the team yourself if you are willing to spearhead the task of leading it, at least until someone else can help out or take over. Link to instructions below.
