This template is used in the GNU/consensus to describe software projects that show recommended features.
Type | Template | Description |
---|---|---|
Compromised | Template:Consensus_Compromised | Electronic communication systems that spy on their users, or otherwise do not respect their freedom intentionally. |
Broken | Template:Consensus_Broken | Well-intended systems that can be useful but present flaws or limitations in their architecture or implementation. |
OK | Template:Consensus_OK | Systems conceived to preserve their users freedom and privacy, and will thwart global surveillance as well. |
Using Template:Consensus_OK
Example with Tor:
{{Consensus OK |name=Tor |type=Anonymity Netwok |url=https://torproject.org/ |availability=Desktop, Mobile |description= Tor is free software and an open network that helps you defend against traffic analysis, a form of network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy, confidential business activities and relationships, and state security. |features=... |pros= * Free Software * Strong and lively community * Effective thwarting global surveillance * Many use cases across the social spectrum * Mainstream recognition |cons= * Advanced usage can be difficult * Dependent on U.S. military funding * Not yet mainstream acceptance }}
