Several Ralink drivers don't need to load nonfree peripheral software:

  • The rt2500 works with several PCI/pc-card cards and doesn't require loading any nonfree software.
  • Maybe some cards with rt2500usb work without having to load nonfree software.

Note that the cards may or may not have internal nonfree firmwares.
