- I would like to congratulate Denis GNUtoo Carikli for creating the "Libreboot Laptops comparison" page and tell him that because I am a sort of digital illiterate I had some trouble in understanding what the "stock boot firmware" he mentions (in line 750 of the page source of "Libreboot Laptops comparison") is.
To be honest, I'm still not sure. I have used an internet search engine. with the above mentioned words with different searching techniques and finally found it is used at elsewhere but I didn't get there an explanation of its meaning there. Tying up what I saw there with what I quickly saw at stock photo definition I am now suspecting that "stock boot firmware" is similar to a "stock photo" in which a beautiful photo is replaced by a useful firmware that must obtained from somebody who is trustworthy. My next step will be to confirm or correct my suspicion.
