Software Freedom Day
Went over Deb's schedule for the 2009 event on September 19.
- John will talk to possibilities about doing the phone workshop and see
- Holmes will reach out to some local lists to get more speakers.
- Do campaign action at the end of the day.
- Deb will write text and contact Phoenix, Dig, and Weird Boston for promotion, and make a list for user and student groups and other places to contact.
- Schedule posted publicly by Friday so that it can go out in the Supporter next week.
- Poster will get made and put up next week.
- Photography/video? Deb will ask Donald to bring photographer again.
- Deb to put speaker mail on the wiki.
- Holmes will not be able to attend -- in Brazil.
- Possible campaign actions: Tagging and reviewing products based on a list; working on LibrePlanet; something with postcards or calls since everyone can access them; short video interviews.
Campaigns
- Internship candidate fell through -- revisit applications and search for new candidate.
- On Friday will brainstorm campaign actions for SFD.
- Set up internal IRC channel again.
Windows 7
- Planning next letter to go out, probably to NGOs.
- Need to get the stickers made.
Holmes
- Working on getting Windows 7 video from last week online -- getting metadata added, and reduced size.
- Working on contacts for patents video.
- Graphic for bounty
- What's next for the phone campaign? Letter to FCC regarding their current enforcement/investigation actions?
- Work plan for time in Brazil, on internal wiki.
- Email to look for volunteers to help with news monitoring, responding and sharing.
- Work out approach and text for promoting Swindle on college campuses.
John
- Press release for Trisquel and Kongoni.
- Report for board meeting on internship program.
- Finish and document CiviCRM testing.
- Get Windows 7 translators mailing list together.
- Go through Windows 7 Sins feedback.
