Questions to Get Reports from Schools
1. Location and Type
Where is your institution located (country, city, town). What type is it?(Preschool, Kindergarten, Elementary, Hight School, University, College, other). Is it private or public?. How many students attend your institution?
2. Commitment to Free Software
Have you always used Free Software in your institution or did you find out about it later? How did you find out? Was it through a GNU/Linux User Group, other associations or groups promoting Free Software, some teachers or professors, or through some other means? Are you running a fully Free operating system or are you using Free programs on a proprietary system? How many desktop stations are running Free Software? Is Free Software being used in the instituiton's library and administrative offices as well as in the classroom? Is your server also running Free Software?
3. Motivation and Results
Why did you choose Free Software? Has Free Software met the institution's needs and expectations? Have you noticed any improvements in the learning process by teaching your students Free Software? In what way? Is there anything you still need to improve to optimize the implemantation of Free Software? Has your institution in any way contributed to the development and improvement of Free Software (by localizing it, submitting reports, writing documentation/tutorials, hosting a Free Software project or a repository of a Libre distribution)?
4. The Process
If you are using Free Software as the result of a migration process, can you give us some details about the plan you followed for the migration of your systems or for the sostitution of proprietary programs? What difficulties did you encounter and how you solved them? Did you implement any training programs for teachers and/or other personnel?
