Several Ralink drivers don't need to load nonfree firmwares:

  • The rt2500 works with several PCI/pc-card cards and doesn't require to load any nonfree firmwares.
  • Maybe some cards with rt2500usb work without having to load nonfree firmwares.

Note that the card may or may not have internal nonfree firmwares.
