About ManLUG
Manchester Linux User Group (ManLUG) is one of the UK's oldest LUGs and have an active group of people giving support and sharing knowledge.
About HACMan
Hackspace Manchester (HACMan) is "an arts, science and technology club" who "run a member-driven community workshop".
About Manchester Free Software
Manchester Free Software (MFS) aims to promote the Free Software philosophy, centred in Manchester. We provide a friendly and accessible community to learn about and discuss Free Software and other topics that involve users' control of their computing.
Event
Hardware Freedom Day is an annual world wide celebration of Free Hardware with the aim of promoting Hardware Freedom to everyone. This year the event lands on Saturday, 20th April. You can see the teams around the world that will be participating on the HFD 2013 Events Map. This includes Manchester, UK!
The event will be a chance to discuss, show and see Free Hardware. The following topics are for discussion (but other Hardware Freedom topics are welcome):
- The anti-Free Hardware Restricted Boot (aka Secure Boot)

Helping out
- ManLUG, HACMan and Manchester Free Software are working together on this event but would like to work with more groups and individuals wanting to help out. So if you or your group want to help out then please send an email to fsuk-manchester-team@nongnu.org .
- If you have some Free Hardware and would like to demo it to people then please send an email to fsuk-manchester-team@nongnu.org and help out on the day. Alternatively, just turn up on the day with it.
