About
Established July 2021, LibrePlanet Colorado is a group of activists and other volunteers who advocate for the ideals of Free/Libre Software as an ethical social movement, and digital rights as a necessary means for a Free Society.
We operate in accordance with the LibrePlanet Mission Statement and Code of Conduct.
Outreach
LibrePlanet Colorado has plans for close collaboration with the Software Freedom School located in the Denver Metro Area moving forward for 2025 - To grow membership. This effort will be lead by David L. Willson of The Software Freedom School
LibrePlanet Colorado is also going to pursue outreach to local computer groups or GNU/LInux User Groups at Colleges & Universities located on the Western Slope of Colorado. This effort will be spearheaded by Admin Andrew Himelstieb
Goals
- Unite
- Bridge connections between Free/Libre Software activists, users, and contributors regardless of location and culture
- Encourage
- Welcome those new to the Free/Libre concept and help to provide guidance via education, campaigns, and events
- Advance
- Build and contribute to Free/Libre Software code, documentation, and design
Meetings
No meetings are currently scheduled - we will hold routine meetings once LibrePlanet Colorado reaches 6 members - see the Join section below!
For now, feel free to chat on our secure IRC channel (#LibrePlanet-US-CO-DEN) on Libera.Chat (we monitor this channel daily). You may also consider attending an open house at your local hacker/maker space - denhac, or visit the Software Freedom School near Denver, Colorado.

LibrePlanet Denver (The precursor to this Group) presented a Lightning Talk during LibrePlanet Conference 2024! View the presentation slides or watch the video presentation.
We supply the above-mentioned organizations and local coffee shops with paper copies of the latest Free Software Foundation (FSF) Bulletin (semiannual magazine).
